The MiG-19's armament was later upgraded with R-3S "AA-2 Athol" short-range, infrared homing air-to-air missile and S-5 and M-13 (for the BM-13 Katyusha launcher) air to ground rockets. The Korean MiG-19 ‘Farmer-C’ carried all missiles and rockets under its wings.

Flight time has dropped dramatically since the 1990s. The engines of the Shenyang F-6/FT-6 - MiG-19 types are only ever get started on the ground. The last public appearance of the Korean MiG-19s was in 2016, on the Wonsan International Friendship Air Festival or Wonsan Air Festival.
