The Su-7 Fitter-A squadrons of the 3rd Fighter Bomber Air Regiment were the Soviet nuclear strike capacitive air units in Poland in the sixties. The Su-7 Fitter-A type could carry nuclear weapons.

The first Su-7B Fitter-A arrived to Krzywa airport in 1961, they received Su-7BM Fitter-A version later.

They replaced their Su-7B/BM Fitter-A type with modern MiG-27 Flogger-D type in the second half of the seventies. The first MiG-27 Flogger-D bomber arrived to Krzywa airport in 1976.

The main close air support fighter-bomber aircraft type of the Soviet 4th Air Army was the MiG-17 Fresco type in the sixties. All air regiments of the 149th Fighter Bomber Air Division used this common type in Poland.
