From mid-seventies the cargo aircraft capacity was developed. In 1974, the Hungarian crew received retraining for An-26 Curl at Soviet 5th Training Center in Tokmak airport.

Between 1974 and 1978, ten An-26 Curl medium cargo aircrafts arrived in Szentkirályszabadja airport. In 1976 received four the Czechoslovakia made Zlin Z-43 currier aircraft. These are replaced the Li-2 Cab cargo (1974) and IL-14P Crate VIP cargo (1976) aircrafts.

In 1977 the 93rd Mixed Cargo Air Squadron was formed at Szentkiralyszabadja and Tokol airport. All of the cargo and courier aircrafts belonged to it.
 
The 88th Light Helicopter Air Battalion were stationed at the new Borgond airport with Mi-1 Hare and Ka-26 Hoodlum helicopters. Here, they were close to the 5th Army command

The Hungarian pilots and mechanical crew of the 87th Helicopter Air Regiment moved to Central Asia's Frunze airport, so they can receive tactical training for the Mi-24D Hind-D attack helicopter type at the 5th Training Center.
